Dresses and skirts were less long than before and simplicity was the key item. Short skirts that you could see the ankles. The belt was at the lower waits. The hair was very short similar as the man.People were different because of the previous war. Less aristocrats, less riches peoples. The war add ruin them and designers notice the change. To forget the war, cabaret, night clubs were the new attraction. Writers and artists were the new nobles

In sewing, a pattern, also called a sloper or block, is the beginning of a garment without seam allowances or style details. The pattern can be created on thin paper or cardboard templates. Once the shape of the sloper has been developed it will be reproduce on a fabric called toiles or muslins. You can creating patterns for many styles of garments from varying necklines, sleeves, dart placements, and so on. A dressmaker is a person who makes custom clothing, such as dresses, blouses, and evening gowns.
Custom dressmaking frequently employs one of three pattern creation methods. -The flat-pattern method: begins with the creation of a sloper or block, a basic pattern for a fitted, jewel-neck bodice and narrow skirt, made to the wearer’s measurements. -The drafting method: is more commonly employed in men’s garments and involves drafting a pattern directly onto pattern paper using a variety of straightedges and curves. -The pattern draping method: is used for more elaborate and unique designs that are hard to obtain through the flat pattern method. It involves creating a muslin mock-up pattern by pinning fabric directly on a dress form, then transferring the muslin outline and markings onto a paper pattern or using the muslin as the pattern itself.
